Freelance Sales Engineer

Role Overview
A performance-driven professional responsible for generating new business, promoting specialized engineering, rope access, and construction-related services, and converting opportunities into revenue across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This role combines technical expertise with strategic sales execution to deliver high-value, project-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new clients across residential, commercial, industrial, and construction sectors
  • Promote services including rope access, inspection, maintenance, and construction support solutions
  • Conduct site visits, technical assessments, and client consultations (including construction sites)
  • Develop and present proposals, cost estimates, and technical solutions
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and construction teams to ensure accurate project execution
  • Build and manage long-term client relationships and key accounts
  • Achieve defined sales targets, revenue goals, and pipeline growth
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and upcoming construction and infrastructure projects
Core Functions
  • Lead generation and project-based client prospecting
  • Technical sales presentations and contract negotiations
  • Proposal development, cost estimation, and bid support
  • Project coordination and client follow-up
  • Contract closing and account management
  • Sales reporting, forecasting, and pipeline tracking
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related)
  • Proven experience in B2B sales within construction, industrial, or engineering services
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project lifecycle, and technical services
  • Knowledge of rope access, maintenance, inspection, or façade/construction-related services is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of working independently
Preferred Background
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or façade works
  • Background as a Cost Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Project Engineer
  • Exposure to offshore, power plant, or renewable energy projects
  • Experience in facility management or industrial maintenance
Work Setup & Compensation

Requirements

Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related)
  • Preferably licensed (PRC Registered Engineer), but not required for sales-focused roles
Professional Experience
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in:
    • Construction, engineering, or industrial services
    • B2B sales, technical sales, or project-based selling
  • Experience working with:
    • Contractors/subcontractors
    • Developers/building owners
    • Industrial plants or facilities
Technical Knowledge
  • Understanding of:
    • Construction processes and project lifecycle
    • Industrial maintenance and inspection services
    • Facade, structural, or MEP-related works
  • Knowledge of rope access services (IRATA or equivalent) is an advantage
  • Ability to interpret:
    • Basic engineering drawings
    • Project specifications and scope of work
Sales & Business Skills
  • Strong background in:
    • Lead generation and client acquisition
    • Proposal preparation and cost estimation
    • Negotiation and contract closing
  • Familiar with project bidding processes (private and government)
  • Ability to manage client relationships and long-term accounts

1. Commission per Closed Deal (Primary Income Driver)
  • 3% – 8% of total contract value
  • Scales based on project size and complexity:

    • ₱5M+ sales → ₱100K+ bonus
3. Fast Closure Bonus
Encourages quick deal conversion:
  • Close within 30 days → +0.5% bonus
  • Close within 14 days → +1% bonus
4. High-Margin Bonus
Protects company profitability:
  • Projects above target margin → +1% additional commission
  • Encourages value selling, not discounting
5. Strategic Account Bonus
For landing high-value clients:
  • Developers, EPCs, power plants, offshore companies
  • ₱20,000 – ₱100,000 per secured key account
6. Repeat Client Incentive
Build long-term revenue:
  • 1% bonus on repeat projects from same client
  • Encourages relationship management, not one-time sales
7. Project Milestone Bonus
Ensures deals don’t stall after closing:
  • Paid when:
    • Contract signed
    • Downpayment collected
    • Project mobilized
8. Annual Top Performer Incentive
For retention of top talent:
  • Cash bonus or international travel incentive
